Viscero-Somatic Reflexes & Central Sensitivity

£25.00

Description

We all have them – heart-sink clients– clients who you see on the list and wonder, what will they be complaining about today?!  Why don’t they just get better, like most of my patients?

Unresponsive patients, those with recurrent injuries, those who say their issue is “inherited” (but you have your doubts), those whose pain just seems persistent, or those with multiple complaints; these patients are all strong candidates for having central sensitivity.

But what is it the drives and maintains this central sensitivity?  Well, in most cases there is a visceral component.  One or more organs that are under stress and therefore sending drives into the central nervous system which facilitate the pain, discomfort or apparent dysfunction the client keeps returning with.

In this webinar, we will be discussing:

  • What is the connection between fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome with visceral health?
  • What are the 5 ways gut function can contribute to musculoskeletal pain?
  • How can post-traumatic stress affect organ health and pain conditions?
  • Why does tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, supraspinatus tendinitis and other common musculoskeletal conditions help point us to a deeper etiology of pain?

We will be diving in to each of these questions by looking at the concept of viscero-somatic drives and central sensitization; the evidence for it, the implications of it and the management of it.
